A few things to know

The essentials on charts, editing and getting started.

What is the Graphy skill?

The Graphy skill gives your AI instructions and examples for creating charts with Graphy's charting library and visual editor. Describe what you want to show, supply your data, and ask your AI to create a chart with editing controls.

Why use Graphy when Codex or Claude can already make charts?

For a quick chart, your AI's built-in tools may be all you need. Graphy gives it a specific set of chart types, themes and editing controls. Use it when you want to refine the colours, labels, axes and legend directly as you prepare a chart to share.

Can I edit a chart without generating it again?

Yes. Supported changes made with Graphy's editor update the existing chart without asking the AI to generate it again. You can change its presentation while keeping the source data unchanged. Further changes requested through your AI depend on how the app updates the chart.

What can I use it for?

Use Graphy to prepare charts for reports, presentations, articles and client updates, or to explore patterns in your data. Start with an example prompt for comparisons, trends, proportions or relationships, then adapt it to your own data and visual style.

Is the Graphy skill free?

The skill is free to install. Graphy's charting software is free for noncommercial use and qualifying small businesses. Commercial use outside those terms requires a licence. Your AI provider's subscription or usage charges are separate. See the licence terms below.

Do I need to write code?

You can describe the chart you want in a prompt and use the editor for supported visual changes. Your AI writes the chart code. Setup differs by app; follow the instructions above for the experience you use.

Can I use my own data?

Yes. Attach a CSV and describe what you want to show. You can also download a sample CSV from the examples on this page. Other file formats depend on the AI app you use.
