React chart example
Radial line chart
Wrap a cyclical series around a circle so each cycle is a ring.
What is a radial line chart?
A radial line chart maps a repeating cycle — months of a year, hours of a day — around the angle of a circle, with one ring per cycle. Rings that sit further out carry higher values.
When to use it
Use it when the cycle itself is the subject: seasonality, daily rhythm, a year-on-year comparison of the same twelve months. Use a line chart with small multiples when you need to compare exact values between cycles rather than see the pattern.
Design tips
Keep the radial axis starting at a sensible floor; a zero centre squashes every ring.
Label the angular axis with the cycle steps, and the first and last ring.
Limit the rings; more than about ten and the pattern becomes a knot.

Compare multidimensional profiles rather than repeating cycles.
Use when exact values across cycles need a straight shared axis.
